Information about 9007 HID Parts and Kits

OEM halogen 9007 bulbs have a dual filament setup where one filament is used for the low beams and another filament is used for high beams. Due to this dual purpose design, many HID conversion kits only offer HID for the low beam and disregard the high beam. Like the H4 bulbs, some 9007 bulbs are manufactured for just low beam and others are manufactured with a high and a low beam built in so they require two ballasts per bulb.

Halogen bulbs operate at 55 watts and have an average life span of 1,000 hours of run time. HID bulbs operate at 35 watts and can last 3-4 times longer.

If you have a daytime running light (DRL) system on your low beams, you will need to disable it or bypass it by tapping another 12v source like a parking light. Disabling a DRL system is different for every vehicle. To find information for your particular vehicle please browse LightsOut.org.

We do not sell HID conversion kits but below is what you can find on Amazon.com
