Information about H11 HID Parts and Kits

Many vehicle manufacturers use H11 bulbs as low beams when coupled with a 9005 bulb for the high beam. They are mainly used in projector housings from the factory and in some aftermarket projector housings.

Sometimes the housings for H11 bulbs are designed with dust caps on the back like the H7 housings and sometimes it is just a push and twist type of install with no dust cap. Check your housings before you order so you know what to look for when shopping around. A grommet will help you minimize the moisture in the housing post installation.

Halogen bulbs operate at 55 watts and have an average life span of 1,000 hours of run time. HID bulbs operate at 35 watts and can last 3-4 times longer.

If you have a daytime running light (DRL) system on your low beams, you will need to disable it or bypass it by tapping another 12v source like a parking light. Disabling a DRL system is different for every vehicle. To find information for your particular vehicle please browse LightsOut.org.
